Children's Museum in September

In September we also visited the Children's Museum. This is a normal stop for us because there is always so much to do. The first picture is outside the Museum. You can also see Mac digging in the mulch, the boys getting ready to enter an egyptian tomb and Cooper in a submarine.

Children's Museum - 2

Our friends, Cooper & Emma Backie joined us for our day. Here the kids are in the Palentologists Lab looking at fossils. Later we "lock 'em up" behind bars. JK - it was the "train station".

Children's Museum-3

As you can tell, they did not want their picture taken. The brightly colored glass is from the Fireworks of Glass display.

A Trip To The Zoo

In September we headed to the Zoo. We had not been all summer so it was a nice change. The boys really got into the petting zoo this time. This little goat did not move the whole time. If you look closely you will see that even though the boys put their arms around the goat they never actually touched him!

Zoo Animals

These amazing creatures had to take center stage for a moment. Notice the baboon(I think that is what it is) has a new baby. She is holding it close to her stomach and you can see how the head looks so much like a human baby. It was soooo cute ( now no one get caried away, even though I said human baby you all know that I in no way believe in evolution :)))

Cooper's First T-Ball Game

I have found that there is not much scarier than handing a 5 yr. old a bat and telling him to swing. Kudos to the coaches that stayed so close to that ball and bat. Coop was on the "Athletics" team for his first try at T-Ball. He went for EVERY ball as on outfielder. In T-Ball, they rotate the kids in the outfield and it didn't matter if he was at 3rd base and the ball was rolling to 1st he was going for it (and a lot of times he got it). He also dove for every ball and into the plate each time. The problem was that he would lay there a minute before he would get up. I think he was making sure we all saw his wonderful physical ability! He had a great time and wants to try Karate next!

Traverse City 1

In August we went to visit friends of mine that moved up to Traverse City, Michigan. Off we went, just me and two kids on a seven hour journey. The boys LOVED the beach. It was both of their first times at the Lake (Cooper insisted it was the ocean). They enjoyed playing in the sand and finding sea shells.

Traverse City 2

We are back to separate postings for mulitple pictures, it just works easier this way. Sorry.
While in Traverse City, they had their street fair which is held every Friday night during the summer. Talk about a fun town. The boys got their face painted, got giant balloon hats and got their picture taken with the mascot of TC, I think it was a giant cherry in a hockey jersey. Hmmm.

Traverse City 3

The boys each found their first shell. As you can tell, the rain was moving in and it was about 65 degrees. But nothing would stop these little guys!

We also enjoyed attending Aubrey's 5th birthday party at the Great Wolf Lodge. Fun, Fun, Fun!

Traverse City 4

The Great Wolf Lodge has a huge indoor water park. The boys had a blast and I was amazed how brave Cooper was going down some of the big slides. He truly showed me what a Big boy he is getting to be. Mac also showed me how he could swim in 6 inches of water! The big contraption in the bottom picture is part of one of the slides and has a bucket that drops 1000 gallons of water every few minutes!
