The Song Family Picnic

Saturday we enjoyed the family concert put on by our local Contemporary Christian radio station. I'm not sure how much music we really got to listen to but the day was action packed. Four other families from our life group joined in the fun and between us all we had ten kids present. As you can imagine being in a large crowd, in the heat, for 5-7 hours, we were doing some creative parenting. We packed tons of snacks, but somehow forgot the "entertainment" for our children. Luckily, we took turns so we got to sit and visit with the adults from time to time. The kids played with each other, tattled on each other, whined and then got happy again. All in all, the kids were fabulous considering the circumstances. By fireworks time, we were walking to the car with our eyes on the sky (we had to beat the traffic). I wish I could share all my pics but blogger doesn't let you do collages. Hopefully you can "feel" some of the fun we had from these images! By the way, the one with Mac's finger in Cooper's ear is his first time giving a "wet willy". Life as a 2-year old has begun.

Swimming with Sirena & Alex

What a beautiful, sunny day we were blessed with! My friend Sirena invited us to swim at their pool and Cooper was in heaven. Not because of the pool but because he got to hang out with Alex. Coop thinks Alex is the best thing since ice cream! Cooper is over any fear of the water he may have had last year and enjoyed Sirena "throwing" him in the water and "diving" for objects with Alex. Mac ventured in and let "Aunt Renna" hold him. Mostly Mackey likes to stick to the perimeter, spraying things with the spray bottle and pretty much using anything he can as a hose. This was a special treat for us because Sirena works full-time and we normally only get to catch a quick lunch together here and there. This week was vacation for her and we enjoyed spending part of it with them. Thanks guys!!

4th of July

Cooper didn't feel well, so we missed the Indians game with the Rochfords. However, we couldn't let fireworks pass us by. So we loaded up, headed downtown, got kicked out of our "usual spot", but still had a great time. The picture of Dan & the boys show the great glow sticks we had. This includes the glow earrings that Dan is sporting. I think he thought the pirate face would make them more manly!

Boys On Bikes

To our great surprise, we found out Cooper could ride a bike without training wheels.
Our neighbor has been after us to take his training wheels off. Last week Cooper replied "yeah, I ride a bike with 2-wheels at school." Dan & I were doubtful but Dan took off the training wheels to see what would happen. Cooper hopped on the bike with all the confidence in the world and began to pedal down the sidewalk! Who knows how long he has been riding a big boy bike. It might have been 6-weeks or 6-months. However, we are counting the picture above in his Treasure Island shirt his first bike ride (that mommy and daddy witnessed). They grow up so fast!!!

Claire Rochford joins the world

The boys have a new "sister" or potential bride!! Our good friends Jeremy and Heather Rochford welcomed a baby girl to their family. Claire Catherine was born at 11:59 am Saturday morning and is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! The boys love playing with Claire's big brother Jack and I am sure they will help teach Claire all the things she should know (and not know). Mackey was especially taken with the new "ba-bee". He loves babies, especially when Mommy is not holding them. We thank our dear Lord for her safe arrival. Congratulations to the Rochfords!
